State Fair 2011

On Friday I was asked to help with a booth at the state fair. I got to sit in a booth and talk to people about VIPS....the Volunteering In Police Service program that I just was selected to be a volunteer with West Jordan Police Department. Since I think the fair is a little lame I wasn't planning on going this year but I ended up getting free tickets for Jared and Hailey so we headed back down there. Hailey was super excited to go to the Little Hands on the Farm exhibit. She thinks it is fun stuff. They also had a Lego Booth and she went nuts there! We love Legos at our house.  And of corse we had to visit the butter cow exhibit since we know one of the Sculpters! Other than that it seems like the same old stuff to me but at least we had fun as a family and got out of the house for the evening. Enjoy the pictures!

Crazy Hair Day 2011

Last week was crazy hair day for Hailey. She wasn't very happy with me last year since we forgot to participate so she made sure I was aware of the date this year. I wasn't sure what to do so we just did a bunch of random pony tails. We then braided some, didn't braid others and did half and half on the others. We also did different braids and such! SHe was pretty excited with how it turned out!

....and summer comes to an end....

when our pool closes summer officially ends for us. We are so sad that its already the end of the season. We love having a pool and Hailey is a nut in it.She goes crazy. Its been fun watching how well she swims this year! She is defintely our little mermaid~

PS Best part of today was watching Hailey do belly flops on purpose. SHE IS CRAZY!!!!!

Disneyland Family Vacation....

Family Vacation Day 6

This was our last day to spend at Disneyland. We asked Hailey what she wanted to do again and for sure she wanted to see more princesses. This day turned out to be quite the Character day! Thanks to our magic morning entrance we were able to walk right up to some of the princesses. However we did have to wait over an hour for Rapunzel but Hailey's reaction was worth it. Besides seeing the princesses we wanted to ride all our favorite rides again and see the World of Color Show. We were also able to catch Disney Junior live on Stage which Hailey LOVED! I was pretty miserable and having a hard time walking aroumd Disneylamd so I finally gave in and visited First Aid. WOW I was impressed. They were so nice and did what they could to help me bandage up my feet better. It looked crazy but helped me make it through the night. All im all our last day was quite Magically and we go lots and lots of our favorite things in!
....and Hailey was so beat on the way back to our hotel she couldn't even stay awake at our drink stop! All in all we had a wonderful trip and it was great to spend time together with just our family!

Family Vacation Day 5

This was our day off. When we were in California I wanted to get to visit my Grandparents graves and show Hailey and Jared where my Dad grew up  and stuff. We were able to drive by the House that Grandma and Grandma Awsumb lived in and show Hailey where my Dad and Laurel grew up.  IT was sad to see the house a wierd orange color and not as well kept up as it used to be. After that I took Hailey and Jared to The Northwoods Inn. Whenever we visited California we always had a nice dinner here. It was fun to share that with my family. Afterwards we got to go see my Grandparents graves. Hailey was very excited to take them flowers.

 It was nice to take some time to remember my Grandparents. After that we took Hailey to the beach. We opted not to play but just visit the beach...I have a hard time with the messy sand and such. Hailey liked the beach and getting seashells!

 After the beach we stopped by a LEGO Store. Hailey was in heaven since we don't have those in Utah. We decided to let her fill a bucket at this store and the downtown Disney store. She was in heaven and hasn't stopped playing Legos since we've been home!

 ....and of course I couldn't go on a trip without some wierd medical issue right? Let me introduce you to my crazy feet blisters. I decided to wear shoes and socks instead of flip flops for walking around. However this is what ended up happening....I was miserable...well still am....they hurt so bad. I can't barely walk and my feet are so swollen. Thanks to Jared he got a bunch of stuff to try to Doctor them up!

Family Vacation Day 4

Today was our second Day at Disneyland. We had planned to have breakfast with Minnie and Friends. It was a great all you can eat Breakfast Buffet. Hailey loved seeing all the characters and getting her picture taken with them. After breakfast we headed over to California Adventure. We told Hailey that she had to try all the rides once again. Of couse we took her on Tower of Terror and she cried ... but afterward we went to the Aladdin show which was amazing and made her happy. I was quite impressed at how well done it was. Of course this was the day we finally got to ride the new Ariel ride. Hailey loves Ariel and was so excited. Luckily there was no wait so we were able to go on it again and again. Hailey also loved the big California Scream Roller Coaster. It was awesome to see her big smiles on that ride. That evening we were able to meet my Aunt Laurel and Uncle CK for a very nice fancy dinner at Napa Rose. It was nice to get to relax, having an amazing meal, and visit with Laurel and CK. I was worried if Hailey would behave or not but she talked Laurel's ear off the whole time. It was so cute to watch her interact with them and get to know them a little better. Thanks so much for coming up to meet us and for the wonderful dinner Laurel amd CK! After dinner we caught the fireworks and headed back to our hotel. Much to our surprise Hailey was wide awake and bouncing off the walls!

Family Vacation Day 3

Today was our first day at Disneyland! Hailey was so excited she could barely wait. I loved seeing her excitement as we walked to the gates. Luckily our Hotel was across the street so we had easy access to the Disneyland Gates. Hailey had so much fun riding the rides and luckily the waits weren't too bad. We were able to go on all the rides. I was surprised Hailey was tall enough for every ride and we told her she had to try them all once. She definately was scared of Space Mountain and Indian Jones. I think by far her most favorite ride that day was probably Small World. Here are the pictures:

Family Vacation Day 2

The second day we woke up and drove from Las Vegas to our Hotel in California. We went to Downtown Disney to pick up our tickets and do some shopping. Hailey was excited to get her Mickey Mouse ears as well as a new stuffed animal. Hailey has been wanting one of these Ariel baby dolls for a few years now. SHe has cousins and friends who have them and wanted one too. She was soooo excited to finally get it. We had them put her name on her ears and the dolls blanket. I think she was in heaven and the best wasn't yet to come! After shopping we went swimming and relaxed to be ready to go to Disneyland the next day.
