Extreme Makeover Home Edition comes to UTah

Last week Extreme Makeover Home Edition announced they they'd be doing a home in Daybreak. We decided to go see what they were doing on Saturday. It was fun to watch what was going on. Also on Saturday night I had the opportunity to volunteer and help. It's interesting to see a different prespective of the show and for sure I have different opinions now. Anyways here are a few pictures we snapped!

Bees Baseball Game

We had a great night at the baseball game last night. Hailey loves going and seeing Bumble, the mascot, but we've never gotten a picture. Thanks to Mom and Uncle Brian we yelled and yelled and he finally came to see us. IT was soo funny! We had a great time. Here are a few pictures!

Kate and Hailey shared some Cotton Candy!

Uncle Brian Visits

My Brother Brian came to visit us this week. He also brought his darling girlfriend Kate along. Hailey is her new best friend. LOL Hailey can't get enough of her and thinks she is pretty neat. We like her to. Here are a few pictures from Sunday night when we had dinner with them!

Little Gardener

A few weeks ago the Townhomes gave us flowers to plant. Hailey has been great at watering them and taking care of them. SHe also brought a plant home from school that we have now planted as well. She is sure cute taking care of those plants every night!

SHe had to put this sign by her plant so everyone knew it was hers!

JDRF Diabetes Walk Lunch Kick Off

Last week we were able to attend a Kick Off Lunch for our diabetes walk in honor of my darling neice Brittany. They had a nice luncheon at Grand America. Hailey loved getting out of school a little bit early to go to it. IT was super fancy as she said! The theme this year is Safari to a Cure. SO Hailey and Brittany got to bring home decorations and they are all safari rated. Its always a treat to show Brittany our support and we are looking forward to our walk again this August...I will be posting our walk page soon!

The kids all got to pick an animal mask. Hailey is in love with hers!

Yummy new Recipe

So my friend Kate makes super yummy new dinners all the time. I am always afraid to try new things but when I saw her making this is looked so good and easy I decided to take it on. I should have taken a picture but of course I didn't. Oh wells....Here is the recipe:

Citrus and Mustard Chicken Marinade

6 Tbsp olive oil

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 1/2 Tbsp lime juice

1/2 cup brown sugar

3 Tbsp mustard

3 cloves of garlic, minced

1 1/2 tsp salt

6 chicken breasts

Place all of the above ingredients except the chicken in a gallon sized freezer bag or 9 x 13 baking dish. Mix together and add chicken.

Seal the bag or cover the baking dish and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, all day would be best. Turn the chicken at least once during this process. Grill chicken and enjoy!

We grilled the chicken and then sliced it for sandwiches. They were soo yummy!

Hailey & Geerta's Fruit Snack Sale!

Once a year our community is allowed to do a yard sale. Needless to say we usually can scramble up some junk to sale. And of course we always have to involve Hailey! This year she decided to sale Fruit Snacks....however she enlisted Geerta's help. They were so cute selling their fruit snacks!

Don't you love the pictures Hailey drew on their signs?

After her hard work we let her go to the store and spend her earnings. She was thinking about saving them for Disneyland but really wanted a new scooter since she outgrew hers. So with a bit of help from Mom and Dad she selected this awesome new barbie scooter. No more three wheeled too small scooter for Hailey! She is so excited it came with a scooter for her barbie too!

Hailey is loving her new scooter and was proud of her work to get it!
