First Grade here we come...

I can't believe she is already a FIRST Grader! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday we were bringing our cute baby girl home from the hospital and now I just took her to her FIRST DAY of FIRST GRADE! It's hard to believe she is now in school full day. Hailey was super excited for today. When you ask her about first grade she is most excited about eating lunch at home. She always is quick to also add that Mom has to eat alone now too! I guess that just gives me an excuse to make lots of lunch dates! I can't wait to hear about her first day!

Word Detective

 Yesterday we got to meet Hailey's new teacher. When we met her teacher she gave Hailey a Word Detective kit. It included these awesome glasses. Hailey has loved working on her first assignment and looking for words. These glass are too cute and crack me up!

Letterboxing

Our family started a fun new tradition this summer. Thanks to my friend Kate for introducing us to it. We are addicted now. I'm sure you all are wondering what it is. Well let me introduce you to Letterboxing! Have you ever heard of Geocaching? Its simliar to that. Basically you follow clues to find a letterbox. Inside the LetterBox You will find a stamp and a notebook.At this point you get to stamp the stamp in your notebook and then leave your stamp in theres. Since we are doing it as a family we picked a stamp representing us and what we like to do. I wasn't too sure at first but we are loving it. Its been fun to see the different stamps and fill our books. Hailey is loving the adventures of it too. It's a great way to get your family out of the house and do something adventerous. Splash Park Fun

Last week we got to go to the Splash pad with Shantel and her darling kids. Hailey had a great time playing with Kolby and Kenzie. Hopefully we can go again before summer is over!

4th of July 2011

Our family had a great 4th of July. Yesterday we headed to the West Jordan Parade in the morning and then to Sandy City at night for their parade and fireworks. Its always a fun day to spend together as a family. We enjoyed seeing some of my family as well as having some awesome friends come along with us too. When all was said and done the Day was a success. Glad we had a great time!

Distinguished Cub and Kindergarten Ends

Last week Hailey was excited to recieve the Distinguished Cub Award at her Elementary School. The Award is given to the students that meet a list of academic requirements that the school issues at the beginning of the school year. There are were 15 requirements and the kids were expected to complete 12 of them. Hailey completed more than that and we are so proud of her. They were presented with an award and medal during an assembly. Good Work Hailey! Also last week was her last week of Kindergarten. I can't believe I will no longer have a kindergartener but rather a 1st grader. She is so excited to start first grade and get to go to school all day. However if you asked her she is most excited about eating lunch at school. We are so proud of Hailey's hard work and the progress she has made in Kindergarten. We look forward to another awesome year next year!
