My new friend....BLOSSOM

Hailey's cousin sent her a super exciting Christmas present. Well let me back track and tell you the first time Awsumb met Hailey when she was just a few months old, if even that, we went to build a bear and they each made a bunny. Then one time when we visited him at his house the kids went to build a bear and made another friend. Since Awsumb remembers that for Christmas he saved up his money and decided to get Hailey a new friend. He picked her out, Gave her a name and heart and sent her down to us. Then Hailey got to go get her all stuffed and lovable. I think it was super sweet of him to send her that present and its made her so happy during her "polka dots" ordeal. She even says Geerta likes Blossom! We never know how Geerta will react and since she is a family member thats a big plus! SO thank you Awsumb we are taking great care of Blossom and love having her cause it makes us feel like you are here close to us! We love BLossom!
Sometimes Hailey is super sweet when I take pictures...
However you better watch out she might get mad... But then we play with Blossom and are happy again...

PS I have to put a big shout out to my friend. I traded some bows with her and she made me this darling nightgown for Hailey. Of course she loves it and wants to wear it 24/7! Today she dug in her drawer to the bottom of the clean jammies to make sure she could wear it. Thanks Mandy we love it!

Polka dots UPDATE

Look at how well Hailey's legs are looking. She is starting to improve and we couldn't be happier to see how they look now. We are not in the clear yet but it looks like we are heading in the right direction. At the doctor today she did still have some blood in her urine so they will continue to watch the kidney involvement of it. However with the rash part the doctor said he doesn't think we will need to monitor that anymore which is good news. I hope things can continue to go well for her. Thank u again to everyone for your prayers and kind thoughts. I know because of your help she is being healed and we are making it through this. I have felt that so strongly so Thank you. I had to share a picture of how well they are looking now!

Happy 3rd Birthday

I know I am a day late but I had to say Happy Birthday Tessa!

Hailey's Barbie Doll House

ON Chrsitmas Eve Hailey got a barbie house and some furniture from her Grandma & Grandpa Larsen. She was so excited to have it put together but it wasn't done till later Christmas night. And of course she wouldn't sleep since she needed to make sure Jared did it right. SHe was so excited/ After it was put together we opened her furniture from them and us and she had a riot setting it all up. Then of course we had to let her play with it for a few more mins before bed. Needless to say this morning she woke up and was right to it playing most of the day! Jared had to run to his second job to get something and planned to take Hailey with. Well apparently she got out of the car and unbuckled four times and was heading back to her room toplay barbies. SHe is so cute and I am glad she was so excited. Thank you Grandma & Grandpa!

Merry Christmas

We hope you all had a nice and wonderful Christmas. We enjoyed spending time as a family. It was a nice day. And the best part is Hailey was acting a lot better. Her rash isn't as deep purple/red, the swelling has gone down and she was able to walk around today. Knock on wood things will keep going well. Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve

First I need to tell everyone thank you so much for your kind thoughts and words. I know having Hailey sick and going through this has been so hard. Its sad to see her so miserable and know we can't do much to help. I appreciate the prayers and encouraging words on our behalf. I told Jared tonight it was nice that all day I felt at Peace and I know thats because of you. SO thank you for helping brighten our Christmas. Thank you for you prayers I can honestly feel them comforting us. We did take her back to the Dr today and the rash is still pretty bad. He thinks it will hit its peak and hopefully after a few days will start going away. We go back on Tuesday so I hope things continue to progress well like they have. He did say once its gone they will still monitor her for typically six months to make sure her insides are all okay. I am so glad Hailey has Christmas as a destraction or I think she might be having a harder time but she sure is a trooper!

That being said I Hope you all had a great Christmas Eve. We had a busy but fun day. Iam too lazy to put the pictures in order so I threw them all in a slide show if you want to see them. This morning we went to the doctor and then we headed up to Kaysville to Spend some time with my Dad and Colleen. We always enjoy our visits there and it was fun seeing everyone. However Hailey had a hard time resting she wanted to be up running with the kids. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa and everyone for the nice gifts. After which we went to Jared's parents house and spent some time with his family. I am overwhelmed at how generous Jared's parents were this year and appreciative of all they did for us. Hailey was so excited to finally get the Barbie house she has been dreaming of! After that we headed home to open our traditional gift of jammies and cute slippers! Then Daddy Read us The Night Before Christmas and we went for a ride to see Christmas lights. Hailey was so beat and in pain that she fell asleep but all in all I think we had a great Christmas Eve and we are so excited for Christmas tommorow. Merry Christmas

PS The best part of today was Hailey talking about the true meaning of Christmas. I haven't been the best Mom to talk to her about it much but she knew why we celebrated Christmas and was pretty knowledgable too! I love her sweet spirit!

PPS I Forgot Colins comment was another highlight of today...he was playing with his sock Monkey and told Brittany, "We can keep these in our sock drawers!" That kid cracks me up!

My Polka Dots...please pray for Hailey

Our poor baby girl has developed what she prefers to call "My Polka Dots" It is so sad and we are so worried about her so here is the story.

SO last Friday night Hailey ended up running a really high fever. We gave her medicine and watched her for the next day but figured on Saturday when it was still pretty high we might as well take her in. So off to Kids care we went where Hailey was diagnosed with strep throat and put on amoxicillian. Yeah she was starting to feel better and I was going insane and needed out of the house so we decided to head to the Christmas Sing Along Downtown on Monday night. After when we were walking to the car I told Jared to put Hailey down to walk. She was saying she couldn't walk and her legs hurt. WE assumed she was just being a drama queen. Needless to say we come home that night and as Jared is taking her boots off he says, "Katie you might want to come look at this.."Well for Jared to say that freaks me out so I ran over to Haliey and saw her legs that looked somewhat like this:

I was a little concerned and we hadn't given her the antibiotic yet so I told Jared I wonder if it is a reaction to the medicine. We decided to call the on call doctor and he told us to stop giving her the medicine and bring her in the morning. I was worried but still okay at this point... So we tried to sleep and then in the morning called first thing when we woke up. She had an appointment and off we went. The doctor came into examine her and told us that she had Henoch Schonlein Purpura also known as HSP. Okay we thought as she explained it but I think we were still worried adn in shock. Apparently it isnt' related to the medicine or the strep but will come on after something like that occurs. They had to check her urine and blood pressure. Sure enough in her urine was blood and protein which can happen with this. So she asked us to head to the hosptial to get some lab work done. Well if you know my daughter she freaks at shots so what was going to happen at this. Oh NO I was freaked for her. On our way to the hospital we stopped by Jared's Dads work so they could give her a blessing and headed on our way without telling her much. Needless to say it was a long long visit with lots of tears and screaming. We bribed Hailey though because we knew it'd be painful with a visit to build a bear. And the wait begins to hear back from the Dr and the worry sets in. I dunno why this has made me so emotional and upset/ I am so worried about her and I hate that I dont' feel good either and am not much help. Poor Jared is a trooper. The Dr . told us it would hurt her and to try to keep her off her feet. Which means of course Daddy is carrying her all over. THey said to have her keep her feet up and rest. There are some signs to worry about but its a good sign if she is happy and active which of course she has been. Today she crawled all over the house wanting to play. Anyways after a long wait the dr called and said that the blood levels were elevated which is normal with this and that we won't have the answers back on a couple of them for a few days. SHe said its good we have those though in case we later need to compare them. I was pretty upset and worried and I think she calmed me down quite a bit. I am still a worry wart though... We have a follow up in the morning and i Hope it goes okay. Hailey is pretty upset about her Polka Dots and doesn't want anyone to see or know about them. I am a wreck worrying about my poor Hailey and all teh unknown. We hope things will start turning around for her but they could not so we have to keep an open mind. If you can remember us in your prayers we would appreciate it.

Here is a picture from Last night

And pictures today

And this sweet thing cuddled on me till she fell asleep tonight> It brought tears to my eyes but I was glad I could hold her since I can't help her much.
PS this is not contagious so at least we can try to go to Christmas Activities.
PS the best thing heard from Hailey besides talk about her Polka Dots was late last night she said, "Mom my polka dots hurt and I think Daddy needs to give me another blessing" Her faith brings tears to my eyes. ANd of course later she said the sweetest prayer to Heavenly Father asking him to help her get better and Mommies hands to heal.I cry writing this. Her sweet spirit is such an example to me.
Sorry for rambling I am sure this was good for me to right as I have been so worried and upset it helps to share if you get waht I mean. If you read this far thanks your the best.
If I don't post before I hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

Carpel Tunnel Surgery ROCKS!

I am writing while my hands are both in these lovely braces. It's very hard to move them but I am going insane and I have to get on the computer right? Last wed I had carpel tunnel surgery on both my hands. You may think I am a little crazy but my insurance was maxed so I wanted to get it done this year. Honesty it hasn't been too bad but it sucks! I am not able to do much so I appreciate Jared so much for helping me and being such a saint. He has and is being a great and dedicated husband. I owe him big time. He has had to help me in ways I am sure he wouldn't want to! Thanks to everyone else who has watched Hailey, Called to check in, brought meals(and we had wonderful good food to eat which rocked), etc. I can't even thank you enough. I was able to take my bandages off on Saturday which was awesome. My arms were wrapped up pretty much and my fingers too. I couldn't get them wet so showering woudl have been super challenging. I do have to say that shower on Saturday was the best feeling ever! Now I am just wearing the braces and my fingers are somewhat free...which is so much nicer. The down side is...because my fingers are free I think I can do anything. However when I go to do something it hurts and I scream out in pain. FOr instance I drop a lot of stuff cause it hurts so bad when I pick it up. You'd think I would get the point and give up trying but you have free fingers so you forget. We are close to a week from surgery so hopefully it keeps getting better from here on out right? I am sure you don't want to see these pictures but a few people asked. And this is almost a week after surgery so they are already starting to look a lot better. Its crazy how far up into my palm is bruised though. So cyberworld I miss you and am trying to come back. I may not type the best but I gotta tryto keep up. And by teh way I am so sick of being in my house so if you need to get out and need someone to go wtih you GIVE ME A CALL!! Thanks again everyone for your help!~

Gardner Village Elves

I feel a little stressed trying to get all the fun things in before my surgery! Needless to say we braved the cold....it is actually warmer than freezing now...but still cold and headed out to see the Elves at Gardner Village. Hailey loved it and its nice that you can walk through pretty fast and be done. Oh and of course Baby Geerta came with us! Enjoy the pics!
